You See them........... blank, lifeless stares or sad faces looking back at you from behind garbage bins and trash piles.

You see them.... Jumping, barking, desperately pulling against chains of bondage that hold them down.

You hear them..... whimpering, in summer they struggle to find the slightest piece of shade to escape the merciless heat of the sun.

You hear them.....howling in winter, they try to ease the violent tremors of some of their emaciated bodies, seeking any amount of warmth they are unable to find.

Heavy panting of dry mouths long for the slightest drop of water.

Many a loud rumbling of countless hollow stomachs ache with hunger.

They feel the creeping, the crawling..... as hordes of flies and blood sucking parasites drain what bit of their energy remains.

These endless days and nights, turn into weeks, months, years…a lifetime of misery.

This describes the existence of countless dogs, in Kansas City, and surrounding areas and many advocates feel this cruelty has been happening long enough!

It is beyond time for intervention for change. We want communities that we can feel safe in.
