Time to change CGSA Board election policies!

Time for a CHANGE!

We, the parents of CGSA players, petition the Board of CGSA to change their election policies for Board positions.  Currently, Board positions are filled by special invites from current Board members, unless there is an interested party that is seeking an open Board position.  Board members voting for board members should be advised against.  Per the Bylaws, offices will be elected by General meeting in February prior to Opening Day. But this general meeting has never been made public.

By allowing open election, this helps keep the Board honest and allow the potential for new ideas and new growth for our league.  Surrounding leagues host open, annual elections that invite all league members to attend the meeting and vote.  CGSA is a huge league with almost 500 players and the majority of the people should have a vote on any contested positions.

By changing our election process of Board members, this allows CGSA parents to voice their vote, either openly or anonymously. We, the parents, will not be registering our players or asking for a registration refund for this upcoming season should this not be voted in and taken into effect immediately.

Times have changed!  Policies need to be updated. Parents want to get involved and keep the league growing for their young players.
