My belief is that in the Midst of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak, I should not have to choose between staying at home and coming to class for my attendance. Over 100 people are undergoing self quarantine including students at neighboring campuses such as Rice University in order to decrease the chance of this spreading. Why should we wait for a fellow employee or student to test positive to take safety measures. In an era of technological advancements such as ours, HCC should be preventative and allow students to do their classes from home. I am sitting in class, and some of my peers can't even concentrate on the material because we are waiting for in-person classes to be suspended. People walking the halls of HCC campuses might already have this disease and can unknowingly spread it, because the majority of the symptoms mirror those of a common cold.

Harvard Health states"the virus can spread from one person to another, most likely through droplets of saliva or mucus carried in the air for up to six feet or so when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Viral particles may be breathed in, land on surfaces that people touch, or be transferred when shaking hands or sharing a drink with someone who has the virus."..... "there are cases where people who do not feel sick have the virus and can spread it."
