Ceredigion Council, via the Dyfed Pension Fund, invests in companies complicit in Israel’s grave breaches of international law, violations of Palestinian human rights, and the bombing of Gaza.

These multinational companies, including Airbus SE, BAE Systems, Northrup Grumman Corp, and Honeywell International, provide products, military hardware and weapons, and other equipment and services that are essential to Israel maintaining its grave violations of Palestinian rights. These companies conduct business activities that sustain an illegal and unjust situation. This could place financial, reputational, legal, and regulatory risks on fund investments.

We are therefore demanding that Ceredigion Council and the Dyfed Pension Fund:

• Remove investments from companies included in the UN Human Rights Office’s list of business enterprises active in Israel’s illegal settlements (A/HRC/43/71).
• Make public what procedures are in place to ensure the fund is not complicit in Israeli violations of Palestinian human rights and international law. This includes outlining what robust time-limited engagement practices are in place where complicit companies are identified, and what subsequent action can be taken if companies do not respond to engagement processes.
• Implement a robust investment strategy statement/statement of investment principles, to ensure that the fund cannot be invested in companies that contribute to a breach of international law or are complicit in human rights abuses.
