Devesh Sharma started this petition to CEO of the Academy Dawn Hudson and the Oscar Committee

Alia Bhatt, who was unfairly given the roles of many newcomers and has been involved in creating cliques in Bollywood, is under fire for bullying, being a product of nepotism, taking the chances of fair and hardworking actors to her own benefit, and is involved in the notorious "Karan Johar gang of Bollywood". This gang repeatedly excludes newcomers and even was complicit in the suicide of Indian actor, Sushant Singh Rajput.

The Indian public is extremely upset with Alia. She has lost over 1.1-2 million followers on Instagram, the #boycottalia hashtag has been trending, protests erupted across the country, and the Indian public believes that the Academy is not supporting diversity in cinema by giving Alia Bhatt a position on the Academy. Alia is nowhere a role model for the Indian public, having denounced education and simply snaked her way into Bollywood. In fact, Alia's father, whose been involved in a previous suicide case, is being investigated and having ties to the young Indian actor who killed himself.

We request Dawn Hudson that she immediately be removed from the position. We believe that the Academy could instead nominate a more deserving actor representative of India's diversity.
