Problem
Honking in India is the biggest and known cause of sound pollution, yet no one is ready to act on it. There are no strict norms, rules or penalty associated with it, hence people are careless about honking. Continuous exposure to honking (whether it maybe musical or not) can lead to temporary hearing loss, irritation, accidents and other times it even can be fatal. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has set limits allowed for honking, but are people abiding them? - Not really.

Solution
9/10 people do not understand the decibel levels associated to be used in India across states, in such a case does it make sense to have a law/rule that revolves around - What amount of decibel levels honking is allowed?
- I believe a ban on honking is the only solution here, as we have already tried a lot of things. A stricter law and penalty for those who do not follow, just like we have for laws for drunk driving.
- Ban on sales, purchase, manufacture, import of musical horns or horns beyond certain decibels.
- Honking to be permitted only on National Highways.

Help me sign this petition to change the law that everyone breaks, knowingly or unknowingly!
