Ontario is preparing to send a pack of five rapid antigen COVID-19 tests home with every school child in the province in time for winter break, in a massive effort to screen kids over the holidays and prevent infected kids from re-entering schools in January.

We are requesting Central Montessori Schools to procure and provide the same test kits to students and staff at the schools in time for the winter break.

Central Montessori Schools have experienced a number of COVID-19 outbreaks at its campuses since the start of the school year. If testing is not done over the holidays when many people gather or travel, it would put the school community at higher risk upon returning to classes in January. It is in the best interest of everyone for CMS to take the initiative to provide the test kits and to have in place a system for each family to report results prior to returning to school.

The wonderful staff and children at CMS deserve to know they are in a safe environment, and that CMS administration care about their lives and well-being.
