The impoverished and badly handled UK response to contain coronavirus has led  the country declaring escalating mortality figures, now shamefully  showing the forth highest death rate in the world - specifically 27,800 deaths as of  01/05/20. 

Alongside, it is predicted that the daily destruction of the economy will  bring  the worst recession for 100 years in the UK

Yet many COVID-19 prevention  models from Asia have vastly succeeded  in containing  the virus (eg Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam). Consider especially South Korea which has reported  no new cases of COVID-19 and only 250 deaths in total  as of  01/05/20.  Both UK and S.Korea have near comparable populations. 

However, the British Government tell us daily how 'well' we are doing.    The supposedly impartial BBC -now desperately keen to appease the Government and hold on to their funding source via the  license fee?-  have joined in the  highly offensive  self aggrandising. 

Critical faculties have been  abandoned in the UK.   For the last ten years at least,  the working and middle classes have been crushed, the NHS starved,  the high street decimated, and factories near total closure.  Our governments have not been  fit for purpose. 

In this economically deeply wounded environment where the peoples resolve  and resilience has been seriously weakened (e.g. 20 million Brits have a mere £100 in savings)  the current government can and does rule by spin. Now we have one of the highest mortality rates for COVID-19 in the world due to government incompetence.  We should have less than one tenth the current mortality had the government done their job with the effectiveness of  other leading nations. What can we do now?  

Calculating the spread of the virus versus spread of immunity is demanding but not impossible.  The UK government have miss-applied lock down vs limiting contagion principles.  For an accomplished understanding of this see  Nobel prize winner Prof. Michael Levitt talking on Unherd about the precise dynamics of this balance -

We have countless foreign football managers (and players),  appointed a foreign Governor of the Bank of England, and  now suddenly (in the last few weeks)  valued major contributions from a foreign work force that cleans our hospital floors, mans our wards,  and delivers our groceries. 

So why not a foreign highly successful health model to extricate ourselves from the devastating UK death rates from coronavirus?  

The health specialists in South Korea are willing to give that advice to limit the spread; together with Professor Levitt 's advice we could maximise the necessary spread of immunity.  Are we mature enough to take this advice? At least c. the same mortality figures are at stake again.  

Phone/email/social media your MPs now and ask them to call for South Korean help, specifically to control our coronavirus spread immediately.  Link this petition, or  even better, cut copy paste this text to them!  This action will save many more lives and also save the economy from generational  deeper damage.
