In the current times when all everyone is interested in, is the memorised bookish knowledge, people, especially students, tend to miss out on a very important learning- knowing basic life skills. The recent turn of events at a coaching centre in Surat, Gujarat must surely act as an eye opener for each one of us. Many more lives could have been saved if the students knew better about how to deal with stress and situations such as these. Schools must step up and take responsibility and ensure that all possible safety precautions are maintained. School fire safety is important for the simple reason that a large number of children are gathered at one place and a single fire can affect all of them. As a request to the Government and the school authorities, I'd like to put forward a petition to organize mock situations and let people learn how to deal with them.
