Even though we are not considering a Black Bear hunt in Florida at this time, hunting always has been and always will be an effective method of population control, providing there is careful regulation and scientific evidence that can support Black Bear sustainability after a regulated hunt. In order to fulfill our obligation to teach unbiased, scientific based lessons to our students, we must include hunting as a viable option. If necessary, provide scenarios in which the population will not support a hunt that year vs years in which the population can support a hunt. We believe this is necessary in order to educate people with complete transparency. This committee has been charged with the obligation to educate our children about all forms of conservation methods, along with their benefits to Florida, and it's wildlife. This curriculum will be integrated into public schools state wide, and it is our duty as parents, conservationists, and citizens to support science, facts, history, and our children's unbiased education.
