This curriculum needs to be reviewed and modified to educate—not to manipulate and groom children.
“Ballard noted that by exposing children to sexualized materials, schools are employing the same tactics as traffickers.”
“…teachers who are now teaching children to masturbate and to learn terms like ‘clitoris’ and ‘erection.’…this is exactly what the traffickers are trying to do to children. If they can get access, they will try to desensitize them by showing them sexual things. Now they have teachers doing it for them… you’re just softening up these children and making them ripe for victimhood.”

I signed this petition for a couple of reasons. First, we are called to protect our children (and the children of our community). There were a number of areas where the school failed. (Assuming all children are ready for this, using college text book, curriculum and not communicating with parents… just to name a few). The other reason this petition is valuable is because these are OUR children and we want to parent them. We should be made aware of what is being taught. We should also not fear the rebuke of school board members for caring and giving input on behalf of OUR children. Parents need to be worked with, not shamed for speaking up and being involved.

I really do hope that one of the things that comes out of this is more transparency.

Is this the same school system that let sexual abuse and sexual harassment occur right in their school ‍♀️ !!!! Whatever your teaching in sexual education isn’t working and wasn’t even working when I was in school. Like the more explicit the worst! You’re better off teaching on the topics of sexual harassment then sex education in that school. Ask me how I know.

The school administration is guilty for letting this go on..... only a depraved mind would be ok with this, and had zero business working in or around children! This is where tolerance has gotten us.... in out of tolerance!

Agreed this goes beyond removing the text. Whoever selected and approved the book needs removed as well. Wilfull dissemination of pornography to 13 and 14 year old children is sick. When it is done under the guise of education doesn't change that, especially when you consider the text wasnt age appropriate.

A college level Health/Sex Ed textbook should have never made it into the hands of 7th and 8th grade students. A more age appropriate option is necessary. I see this as a failure of some school administrators and the teacher for allowing this book in the classroom, and also not recognizing the potential negative impact it might have on the students going forward.
