Alexandra Tarasenko started this petition to Central Coast Council and

As some of you may be aware, recently there has been a lady walking her German Shepherd at North Shelly Dog Beach that has been involved in multiple incidents over the last few weeks.

This German Shepherd has been let down by it's owner, who has not taken the steps to ensure her dog is not a risk to other dogs or people walking on this beloved beach.
I would like to make it clear that these incidents are at no fault of the German Shepherd as it is doing what all dogs think their purpose is and that is to protect their owner.
However once approached about this issue, the lady has a pattern of becoming irate and defensive making it impossible for this to be resolved and refuses to take any responsibility for the fear and injury she has caused to locals and to visitors and most importantly our dogs.

These incidents are becoming a weekly occurrence and multiple people who have been involved or witnessed these attacks have expressed their concerns on the matter and we are now hoping that this can be resolved.
This beach is important to this dog loving community as it is a wonderful spot to exercise not only ourselves but our pets, and to socialise them with other dogs safely.
Everyone who frequents this beach has a right to feel safe and ensured that if an incident like this is to occur, that our Central Coast Council will enforce rules and regulations and prosecute against those who choose to be irresponsible.
It is extremely unfair for anyone to feel like they are at risk if they choose to walk their dogs in this location because of one person who will not listen or take advice by anybody about the harm she is now causing to this beach, simply because she is refusing to walk her dog on a leash or with a muzzel.

We are asking for the Central Coast Council rangers to investigate this matter further, for us all to regain the trust that this beach is safe for not only people but our beloved pets.
We cannot act without authorities help.

I started this petition because…
As a local I am starting this petition to remove the fear and hopefully have this matter resolved as soon as possible so we can all enjoy our beautiful North Shelly Beach with our dogs.
