To whom it may concern,

This is in regard to the press notice released by CBSE, on the 1st of April 2020, in particular referring to clause 5 that notifies that the Board has decided to not hold any more exams for the students of class 10 and 12 schools located outside India.
As this would directly affect students associated with over 200 schools abroad, we would request CBSE to remedy the following concerns, especially for class XII students:

1. Please do not consider model exam scores or other comparable exam scores for final marking. Model exams are considered by students as a formative feedback method and then the corresponding critique is used to prepare harder for the finals, and hence is not a trusty estimate for the Board exam.

2. Some schools have been able to conduct some exams before the lockdown in their respective countries. Requesting the valuation of these papers to be done by the respected school or other affiliated schools within the same country or as per the directive of an executive body like the Gulf Sahodaya, depending on the situation in the respective country. Also, for the exams that haven’t been conducted yet, the respected schools could try to organize and conduct exams in a manner similar to the above, keeping in mind the current scenario.

3. Majority of the non-resident Indian students, who are in CBSE schools abroad, have planned their higher studies in India. Therefore, if the final decision by the board is to not conduct the exams, kindly consider the circumstances and process their college admission applications with due consideration and introduce a policy that will account for a fair opportunity. Of special note (but not limited to) is the JEE exam with minimum requirement of 75% marks in the qualifying examination.

4. In addition to the above, please open a portal for reallocating centers for students who are writing entrance exams because a lot of them are stranded in different locations in the present moment and may not be able to take the exam at the allocated center due to the changed circumstances.
