Online classes are taking a toll on students’ mental & physical health. This is more so for us class XII students who have been studying our higher secondary curriculum online for almost 1.5 years now. Apart from school, many of us also take coaching for entrance exams due in 2022, which further adds to the stress. 

We appreciate the CBSE taking steps to ensure students don’t get affected , such as dividing the year into two terms. But one thing that still remains is project work, which could have been omitted for this year. Investigatory projects require visits to various places, learning about the problems faced by businesses, and coming up with solutions. Unfortunately, this is not possible in the current situation, which is very unpredictable with a threat of a third COVID wave.

This tension of project work along with art integration activities , practical journals, report files for subjects like Computer Science, Internal examinations, preparations for 2 board exams + entrances all online (even science practicals!) at home is very tiring and feels like too much. 

We students sincerely request the CBSE to please, please cancel class XII project work for the academic year 2021-22. This will provide great relief to students. An alternative method of assessment like quizzes will be most welcome.
