The health of its citizens remains at the top of the priorities of any public friendly government. Healthy citizens are also the biggest strength of any country. Governments spend billions of rupees for medical facilities. It is the responsibility of the government to provide proper treatment facilities to the sick persons, while it is also the responsibility of the government to strictly curb those conditions which play with the health of the citizens and cause diseases.

Large scale production of narcotics and their easy availability in the market is a serious threat to the health of citizens. Knowing that these narcotics are injurious to health, rather lethal, allowing their production and marketing by the governments is a great injustice to the people of the country. Many governments seem to encourage instead of curbing them, only to increase their income. Doesn't this fall under the category of immoral act?

Addiction not only does personal harm, but its side effects are also not hidden from anyone at the social level. By curbing drugs, crime can be effectively controlled, increasing road accidents can be controlled, sex crimes can be reduced and increasing pressure on health systems can be reduced. De-addiction can become the cornerstone of a successful governance if governments come out of their narrow view of earning income.

For this, we appeal to the Government of India and all the State Governments to ban the production, storage, marketing and consumption of intoxicating goods (liquor, tobacco, cigarettes, gutka, khaini, charas, heroin, ganja etc.) with immediate effect and ensure strict compliance.
