Until now, Philippines is still facing a serious problem when it comes to disasters. Philippines is vulnerable to different disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, floods and typhoons because of its geographic location. Philippines is one of the countries located near the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area in the Pacific Ocean where earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and typhoons occur according to geologists. Some Filipinos are not ready and prepared enough of the disasters that will come to the country. Due to lack of preparation and knowledge, many Filipinos killed. Our group has agreed to promote the safety, awareness, and preparedness during disaster. Our group also aim to improve the things that is necessary to be done during the said phenomenon.
Since the Philippines is prone to these hazards, we will be informing the Filipino people using infographics. Using infographics will likely benefit the people and would help them have the idea on what to do when disasters strike. The information will not only be given to a specific area but to the whole country, which is the Philippines. This will also be posted on social media especially at famous social media networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The infographics will contain the information that must be utilized in order to prevent further disasters and to reduce the disaster risk of the Filipinos.
The group will also create and develop updated websites and blogs for more information regarding the natural disasters such as tips, warnings, and other important matter for the preparation, prevention, reduction and recovery of Filipino people Through this, they will be educated and will be more knowledgeable enough. We will use our own resources in this project. Our expenses may be included the snack for the campaigners and for the papers and the printing for the fliers (a small handbill advertising an event or product). We will also use free services in social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. in discerning important information.
