Trinity Lexa started this petition to Cedar Hill Independent School District

The student body of Cedar Hill High School is tired of the mistreatment and objectification of students that decide to present themselves femininely.

The dress code is arbitrary and focuses solely on girls and never on boys.

This is not just a women's issue or "females being emotional", we are hurting and refuse to stand idly by and be disrespected any longer.

There have been multiple reports of young girls being pulled from their classes only to be degraded and verbally harassed by the administration. There should be absolutely no reason anyone should be losing their chance to get an education over an article of clothing.

Some "Unacceptable Dress & Accessories" listed on the official CHISD website regarding dress code are as follows:

*Clothing considered too revealing (halter, tube tops, tank tops, tops with large armholes, muscle shirts, cut-off shirts, low-cut tops, crop tops, bare midriffs)

*Skirts that do not fit at the waistline.

*Jeans and pants with holes or frayed material, which reveals any area of skin or undergarments above fingertip length.

*Hair that causes a health or safety hazard and or a disruption of the school environment.

Not only do these points target female students but they're also vague and up to the interpretation of any given administrator. With rules so elusive it's easy to get dress coded without even knowing what you did wrong.

All we ask is for you to change the dress code to be equal, inclusive, and non discrimatory.

We are not distracting, we didnt asked to be sexualised and we definitely dont deserve to have our education disrupted because you're somehow direspected by our self expression.
