Dear CDU Dean and Directors,
We want classes to remain online, especially speaking for FNP cohort 30 and PMHNP cohort 9. There are several reasons we want this change to happen: fully vaccinated and non-vaccinated students do not feel comfortable to return to class and sit in class 8-12 hours a day with mask on in a room. Even the fully vaccinated can still be infected and pass on the infection from the new variant. We have elderly, children, and immunocompromised people to protect at home. We may pick up something from classrooms and bring that home despite having a mask on and washing hands. This new variant spreads faster then the flu.  Therefore, due to rising cases and new covid variants, we do not feel safe to return to campus. Also, we have been online for one semester and we feel we get the same learning experience through online lectures as we do if we were to sit in class.
Majority of our cohort is on the same page and we request to maintain the online learning experience until everything clears up. Please take our request into consideration for the health and safety of everybody and our respective family especially those with kids.
