We as a Community need to come together and unite to make Gateshead Council listen and Stop all the Thefts in the Cemeteries.This is causing Great Distress to Bereaved Family's.

Thousands of Pounds of Items have been stolen from Heworth Burn Cemetery from People's Graves and Actually Funeral Flowers Arrangements from Graves literally a few days after the Funeral, causing already Grieving Family's more Heartache and Distress. Who are doing there best to keep there Family Members Plot Beautifully Decorated as a mark of Love and Respect to there Loved Ones who have sadly Passed Away and the Council and Police are well aware of the situation regarding the Thefts.Yet still nothing is being done to Prevent this reoccurring.

Someone was actually caught Stealing Multiple Items on Camera to which the Police were contacted and shown the evidence but No Punishment given as apparently its not a Crime!! 

What Kind of World are we living in when People are Stealing from Graves.We have tried all Avenues to get this stopped and still it continues causing each Family more Suffering whilst there Grieving the loss of there Loved Ones.

We are Petioning to have CCTV installed in Heworth Burn Cemetery but also other Cemeteries in Gateshead to prevent this happening and any Criminal Damage to Headstones. And try to have some form of Criminal Charge being brought forward for these Cruel hainess acts. People who Steal and Deface Our Cemeteries should be Punished.

We just want to be able to feel we can have Peace of Mind as the Family's who have Suffered a Great Loss of our Loved Ones we should be able Grieve in Peace and be able to give Our Loved Ones the Resting Places the Respect they so Deserve❤️
