LGBTQ+ Awareness in Schools

LGBTQ+ Awareness in Schools
Let me ask all the students in India, has your school ever discussed the LGBTQ+ community openly? Have they ever openly spoke about it or even tried to include it in our studies? No..right? Or there might be few schools, who do discuss and explain the bullying and hate towards them, but it's rare. I've asked multiple friends and distant cousins who study in different parts of India, but the LGBTQ+ awareness was never talked about. Is it a topic that should be avoided and disregarded? NO!
Is it a crime to find what your sexuality is? Is it a crime to be who you truly are? I don't think so. More than half of the society thinks that they are "sinners" and also believes that these people stain the so-called purity of mankind. And why are these kinds of thoughts being created? Due to the wrong information and also the wrong timing. Schools think we are not mature enough to know about this but is definitely not an excuse.
We, students, are enclosed in a sort of a bubble and aren't exposed to worldly situations like the LGBTQ+ struggle. Our schools follow archaic methods of teaching which aren't suitable for this generation. We should be exposed and given the knowledge about what is the LGBTQ+ community and should be educated to not bully or distance ourselves from them, but to embrace and help their voice be heard. Students should be educated about the Pride movement and its importance, just how Environment Day or Anti-drugs day is celebrated and taught in schools.
To all the people who are reading this petition, join hands with me to ask the education boards to include LGBTQ+ information to be discussed in detail in our school curriculum. I aim to gather 500 signatures, so, will you stand with me to bring about a new change?
