Why this petition matters

Started by Jocelyn Berg

After watching the first 2020 President Debate, it became apparent that newscasters were simply unprepared to moderate such important events.  No, we need someone much fiercer, much bolder, much more experienced in handling absolute ridiculousness on an everyday basis.  We need Judge Judy.

Judge Judy would not only ask the important, hard-hitting questions, she wouldn't allow the candidates to sidestep them.  She'd get answers for the American people.

Judge Judy Sheindlin began her career in corporate law in 1965 after passing the New York bar exam, but left the field two years later after becoming dissatisfied with the job to raise her two kids.  In 1972, she became a prosecutor in New York's family courts,  nailing down child abusers and prosecuting domestic violence and juvenile crime.  By 1982, Sheindlin was appointed to become a criminal court judge by New York City mayor Ed Koch, and 4 year after was promoted to supervising judge in the Manhattan Division family courts.

After receiving national attention, via both an LA Times article and being featured on 60 Minutes, Judge Sheindlin was approached about host a courtroom television show.  She eventually accepted the offer, and in 1996 she published her first book, retired from the court, and began hosting Judge Judy.

Judge Judy doesn't take crap from anyone, and would make for an amazing and hard-hitting debate moderator.
