Professional Soccer player Oscar of Brazilian side Internacional has been awarded the right to work anywhere he wants (any club) by the Brazilian Justice system. But the Brazilian soccer confederation (CBF) has failed to register the athlete as per the Justices request so that the player can resume playing for his club.
This petition is for CBF to place the player immediately on the oficial records (aka The BID) so that the player can resume his career at SC Internacional and keep up his hopes of playing at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
This has all come about from when Oscar 2 years ago left his previous club São Paulo after a court battle. Oscar won and left that Club. Oscar later signed with Internacional and has played for the club for 2 years. Earlier in 2012 São Paulo blocked via courts Oscars ability to work (play soccer) at Inter and demanded his return to São Paulo. But the Superior Tribunal of Labor in Brazil recently awarded Oscar a Habeus Corpus stating that Oscar is not a Slave and as any other Brazilian worker can not be forced to work where he does not want to.
All that remains is that CBF follow the superior court ruling and register Oscar in the Bid so that he can return to the soccer pitch.
The delay tactics by CBF seem to be intentional in an effort to hurt Oscar's chances of playing at the 2012 London Summer Olympics. The Brazilian National Coach has stated that without playing Oscar will not be called up for National team duty. CBF's President was a São Paulo executive and São Paulo's intention is to do as much damage as possible to the players career and to Sport Club Internacional. São paulo sees this as killing 2 birds with one stone. The more they complicate Oscars life, the worse for him and for Inter which can't use him on the field in the final rounds of South Americas biggest Soccer Championship, The Libertadores.
This must come to an end and São Paulo must abide by the law and immediately place Oscar in the BID as an SC Internacional player.
