CUMULATIVE SPANISH SPEAKING TASK UNFAIR- IT'S AN EXAM

This petition is about fairness. It's about following through on a promise. It's about doing what you say you are going to do.
We have nothing against our teacher. We actually really like her. We feel however, that there is an injustice occurring. We feel that we were promised something that we are not getting. Every year the Spanish Exam has included a speaking and listening section. At the beginning of the semester the attendance policy was changed. It was promised to us that if we met the criteria we wouldn't have to take exams, and if we did, it wouldn't count against us if we did poorly. Now a week before the exam, we were informed that there is a cumulative speaking task. It includes every grammar point that we have learned this semester. This will count towards our final 4th quarter grade. We argue that since it is cumulative; it is an exam not a test nor a task; therefore, those of us that met the attendance requirement should not have to take it. If we choose to take it, it should not count against us if we do poorly. It is not fair, that we did what was required and the rules changed one week before the exams. Cumulative makes it an exam, not the title of the assignment.
