V Putin has been key in the rebirth of the Russian Orthodox Church, he seems open to them.

Above the doctrinal differences, Catholic and Orthodox Christians are brothers and sisters.

Through its effective diplomatic skills, the Vatican could try to approach the Russian Orthodox Church leadership and work out a common ground for peace.

It would not be the first time that Vatican intervention plays a fundamental role in the resolution of a conflict.

Any common ground that could be found, even if it only moves us 2cms closer to peace, is good. At the very least, they can pray together for God’s intervention. 

Millions of Ukrainians have been displaced in just one week. Thousands killed. Neighboring countries are already struggling to welcome all refugees. People are despondent. Russians face a terrible economic crisis and unemployment, misery. Even if they don’t support the invasion. 

We need to pray for the world and need the leaders of the 2 relevant churches to pray together and convey a message of love to those that can them.
