Addiction crisis opioid epidemic

Addiction crisis opioid epidemic
As a recovering addict the opiate epidemic is a crisis one that is fatal to the human existence and one that is ignored and left untreated. I hear about funding and all that is suppose to help those who are sick and struggling but where are they? Everyone I went to school with is no longer alive do this crisis. I lost my boyfriend just recently in March 2021 I have a best friend currently struggling who went to detox in port jervis New York at bon secours and she was told she wasn’t sick enough to be admitted. Are you kidding me this is a precious life we are dealing not a common cold. You are turning your back on a struggling addict with a severe addiction to opiates away not realizing tomorrow isn’t promised for her. We’re told we have a choice but when we make the choice to recover there is no help and no where to go. So now what? I’m gonna be blunt and keep this short and to the point…
The news will report all of this funding for the opioid epidemic crisis to assist with programs and research and meds and all this other bs but honestly it’s false. When we are trying to get help there is no where to go and no one to turn to do we are left to feed are addiction until it takes our life.
if you or someone you know has lost a loved one to addiction please join us and help make a change so the still sick and suffering have a fair chance in recovery as we know as addicts and recovering addicts our lives depend on it. We need programs who will act on the spot when an addict is ready to change we need someone to help us with a safe place to detox and deal with withdrawals that are deadly for some. We need programs that will believe in us when we have lost all hope. We need these programs that promote help and safety for the addict to actually help!!!! Save lives help me help others recover and help be the change you want to see. Like myself I know many have lost their loved ones and we can change the outcome of another addicts life by speaking up.
