On the 30th of August 2020, the New Haven location of Barcelona Restaurants, LLC closed its Temple Street doors to the public. The location is listed as "Temporarily closed" on the restaurant website with no further information provided. It is stated:

"Barcelona here in New Haven is
TEMPORARILY CLOSED

If you'd like to come visit your favorite managers, chefs, and staff we'd love to see you at one of our nearby locations in Fairfield, West Hartford, and Norwalk

Have a great start to the semester, we look forward to seeing you back here soon!"

Barcelona in New Haven is a staple of the downtown food, beverage, and service industry. At the heart of the city, the restaurant employs many locals as well as providing great service and a world class environment for every individual who enters through the ambiguous but tastefully refined doorway.

With the recent closing, many job opportunities have diminished in addition to those that were already affected by COVID-19. We ask that those in positions of power take note of the already affected and take consideration for those that could be additionally affected by choices made in the decision to continue or halt business with the New Haven location.

Numbers will show that this location has huge success. Regardless of the culture perpetuated by Yale University, you will find the bar and tables full even during the off season.

While this does not need to be seen as speculation of any closing(s), we urge those with power to re-open this location and keep it open as a source of employment, service, and entertainment for the New Haven community.

We answer your "look forward to seeing you back here soon" with a, "How about now?"
