Equality and fairness in family court

Equality and fairness in family court
Why this petition matters
I have court coming up for my child custody case this week. I lost my trial for family access motion I believe because I didn’t have an attorney. The Harrisonville judge refused to give me time to obtain a lawyer. I am a good mother. I’m not in anyway unfit to take care of my child. My ex failed his drug test, I passed mine as well as I had all the evidence to prove he was lying and they wouldn’t even look at or consider the evidence I brought. I felt they were against me and biased from the start. Even the guardian ad litem Leslie Williams was from the start, never took the time to talk to me because I didn’t have money. She was looking only for ways to take me down. She wasn’t educated at all on parental alienation syndrome and didn’t ask any appropriate questions obtaining to the best interest of the child. I was put on the stand and asked questions about things like if I shaved my pubic hair that day and they played a video my boyfriend and I made for the court that had nothing to do relevant to the case. I’m at a loss. I should be able to trust in our justice system to do what’s right and protect my rights. It seems as though they don’t care about my child and the pain he has to endure from this, but rather only care about one thing, and that’s money.
With this petition, I am requesting from the courts, the right to a fair trial, by means of offering assistance to financially struggling parents in obtaining counsel, the time to do so, providing resources and/or assistance to be able to provide both parties with a fair and well prepared case to present, and most importantly to have an opportunity to have ones case reviewed and considered entirely without predisposition.
This is about what’s best for the child and he deserves to have both parents in his life.
