DROP IN PROGRAM PRICE INCREASE

The management at Meadowvale community center Mississauga, Ontario has decided to increase the price of their drop in programs. The current price at which and adult can enjoy a game of Badminton / Pickelball is ($2.95 tax inclusive). The price increase effective as of April 2019 where a single admission for a  badminton / pickelball will be ($7.00 tax inclusive). The pricing applies to any member aged between (18 - 65 years). Pricing for senior adults (65 years and older) will remain same at ($2.95).

There are numerous members (aged 40 - 65 years) who enjoy these programs at the community center and with a harsh price increase it will affect their ability to participate. This not only affects the community members physically but for many of these members the social aspect of meeting other members and mingling with them will be taken away. As a result of price increment, there will be a significant decrease in the number of patrons involved in these activities. The number of patrons contributing to there drop is in programs is already quiet low and with this increase the facility will observe an enormous plunge. In this day and age where stress, heart diseases and lack of exercise are a major cause of illness in our society, Its strongly suggested we need to encourage our community members to be active and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.

As a community, we strongly urge the management of Meadowvale community center to re-consider the price increase so it is affordable for all members of the community. Another solution is to remove the age restriction and the programs should be available to any adult regardless of their age.
