Deklan Townsend was a beloved student by peers and teachers alike, he was wrongly expelled by the authority figures of Casey Grammar. His actions did not jeopardise, nor compromise the reputation of Casey Grammar school as he was accused of doing, likewise the health and safety of staff and students was not put at risk. Not only that, this massively disadvantages him as a Year 12 student and can be detrimental to his education and future. A harmless joke saw Deklan being excluded from the school, as well as being vilified and branded as “disrespectful” despite a lack of malicious intent. He fell over on stage for a bet in front of the school community, and accepts that his behaviour was not acceptable. However, despite numerous attempts to reconcile with and apologise to the teaching staff and those who witnessed the event, as he was asked to do, nothing changed for him. This is utterly ridiculous and unfair, in no way should this expulsion simply be accepted and tolerated. For such a beloved student to face this kind of punishment for something so harmless is an absolute embarrassment. Please help us get him back and allow Casey Grammar to see how extremely over-the-top their actions are.
