BK 2 BASICS Melbourne is a not-for profit organisation that provides care to the homeless community of Melbourne by giving them access to free food, clothing and emotional support to those in tough circumstances.

The organisation was founded 2 years ago by Kelly Warren and her family, who have worked tirelessly volunteering day in and day out to ensure ongoing services are provided from their carport. The organisation is facing closure after Casey City Council threatening to commence legal action if the organisation is to continue operating from the current residential premises.

The Council has only provided 31 days notice, forcing the organisation to plea for a new industrial space to operate from by August 29th.

We are petitioning that;

A) Casey City Council remove the threat of legal action against the organisation whilst BK 2 BASICS seeks a new industrial location to operate from within the community

&

B) Provide BK 2 BASICS with a space to relocate within the local community and ensure that ongoing support is received by people experiencing homelessness in the councils vicinity.
