CARSWELL ANNEXATION
This is a petition to allow the Town of Kimball to annex the residential area of Carswell hollow road. Many residents have requested the town to begin this process.
The Town of Kimball offers garbage services to much of the lower road and will extend garbage services to anyone wishing to sign up. No person will be forced to change your garbage provider.
Upon completion of annexation The Town of Kimball will also provide winter clearing services for all roads within the city. The Town of Kimball will plow and salt all roads and will respond to calls for service to the best of their ability.
The Town of Kimball does currently provide fire protection to the residents however the fire fees will less than current fees as protection is based on assessed property value out of city limits.The standard fee for residential units inside city limits is $25 and commercial including rental properties is set at $50. The fee is increased from these numbers for those who reside outside of city limits in accordance with state law.
The Town of Kimball does not currently provide police protection to those who live in Carswell and as the town is currently increasing police presence and will allow for a quicker response time as the Kimball City Police are much closer then deputies or troopers that may be away from the Kimball area.
The Town of Kimball is currently in the process of developing property within the city and the town is applying for federal grant money to upgrade the water system and install a sewer system this money is much easier to obtain for those living within the municipal limits.
The Town of Kimball currently has the pilot program for the WV DEP and Solid Waste authority for the demolition of run down and dilapidated structures, which will increase property value and allow for new places for economic development.
The list of reasons to petition for annexation of the Carswell is expansive and would greatly benefit the residents.
