Seniors in the past have been granted senior release. Recently J.Z George HighSchool has prohibited senior release stating that low ACT scores are to blame for this decision. However, ACT scores should have nothing to do with senior release because the scores are only required for college not high school. The class of 2022 feels that because of Covid and shut downs over the last two years due to spreading on the virus is why ACT scores were lower then expected. Students have been given extra study hall classes instead of being released causing some to lose hours they could spend working.
