Memorial Composite High School just announced that they will be eliminating classes in the fine arts department due to reduced numbers coming into the school. These classes are and will continue to be, a safe haven for those who are suffering from mental illness or simply can be a creative outlet for the students that attend the school. The music students, as well as the drama students, have won many awards on the regional/ provincial level as well as create a space in which they can be themselves. If these classes are cut or the funding is reduced it makes it more difficult for these students to create this kind of community in which they can be themselves and work towards a common goal together.
