MaryBeth Crissman started this petition to Caroline Town Board

We the undersigned petition the Town of Caroline Town Board to table any non- essential Resolutions and Local Laws until regular town board meetings are reinstated back to normal in person meetings. Decisions are being discussed from the previous and current year and many of our citizens feel that they are being left out of the discussions and are unable to voice their opinions. Covid has contributed to citizens being isolated, not all citizens in the town have reliable internet if at all or have access to a computer.

Many of us have questions concerning the proposed trail, it has been discussed but many questions have not been answered, is there really a need with trails that we already have on State Land in our town for biking and hiking, what is the cost, where will the money come from to build and then maintain, who will do the maintenance?

We feel the Dollar store should be reconsidered. The proposed sight is on Route 79/Slaterville Rd which is a State Highway that has approximately six businesses along with a Church, School, Bed & Breakfast, apartment building in approximate 1.5 miles stretch. Does this disrupt the town or a few residents, wouldn’t this help with our tax base? We feel that we have residents that would benefit and possibly make their life a little easier if we had a local retail store, the Brookton Market and Dandy Mini Mart does not necessary carry affordable everyday essentials. The Town Board should look at all the pros and cons and what would be good for the entire town.
