As we all know, the recent pandemic has changed many things in everyone's lives. A major thing that has been stopped all around the world is Class of 2020's Senior year. Throughout our four years in high school, we have all been looking forward to our senior activities. It's like a right of passage to work hard throughout high school to get to senior trip, prom, and graduation. All of these activities were right out of reach before they were taken away from us.

Due to the recent decision of Governor Murphy, the 2019-2020 school year has come to an end. Seniors have lost our trip to Disney, a normal prom, their last season of their sport, their senior art show or musical, and most likely the graduation we've all dreamed of. Everyone is constantly asking what they can do to make it up to us and it's a hard question to answer. How do you make up for something that we've waited our whole lives for?

We have been participating in online schooling for over a month now with the hopes of returning to normalcy. Teachers have been very gracious in their actions to help every student; however, the little bit of hope many seniors held onto has been taken away as well. It has become increasingly difficult to muster the motivation to keep up school work when this is it for the seniors.

I know this is not as easy as it seems, but I propose that Class of 2020 should be pardoned after May 15th, 2020. That gives teachers time to get in a few last grades, but allows seniors to focus on things other than the major loss of their senior year. Thank you.
