Stop the Thanksgiving loophole

Every year, teachers go out of their way to avoid the Carnegie rule that prohibits teachers to assign homework over Thanksgiving Break. They assign homework days before break begins and make it due a few days after our return, leaving us no choice but to complete it over break, and therefore creating a loophole to avoid breaking this rule. It seems very unnecessary and inconvenient for the teachers to do this in order to just spite us with work. This injustice runs contrary to the purpose of "no homework over Thanksgiving" rule. I believe this hurts the students and has led to an increase in resentment and anger that fill the minds of students on a regular basis. This petition is to help put an end to this injustice. Everyone is tired and stressed; we would just like a second to catch our breath and have a chance to actually relax. I have disguised my name in order to avoid receiving any backlash for voicing my opinion on this matter.
