KEEP THE CULTURE OF M.S. 324

If you've gone or had a child go to M.S. 324, you know that the culture of the school emphasizes an inclusive community that stresses the importance of a students' education and awareness of their surroundings. Janet Heller, who has been principal since 2004, will be retiring in January. This very culture may be put in jeapordy if the DOE puts someone in the school who isn't familiar with the culture and community. I'm an alumnus from this school and can fully express how going here helped mold me into the person I am today.
We the parents, teachers, and members of the M.S. 324 community believe it is in the best interest of the students and wider school community for Ms. Sandra Capers, A.P., to be the principal of M.S. 324. Ms. Capers is an exemplary administrator and a model for students. The undersigned believe a change in the administration of M.S. 324 is not what the school needs. The undersigned believe the school needs the continued leadership of a strong supportive administrator who has demonstrated the ability to accelerate student learning and promote the social-emotional development of our students. Ms. Capers is devoted to the rigorous academic standards of M.S. 324. She is committed to preserving the quality of teaching, learning and core beliefs that has resulted in M.S. 324 being an outstanding school within District 6.
