Free Coach Knipp

Head competition/football cheerleading coach at Carmel High School, Lisa Knipp, has coached high school cheerleading for 33 years. This past season (2017) she lead the team to win 2 state championships in 2 separate divisions on the same day, an unprecedented and historic feat. As a reward for this remarkable accomplishment, she was fired. Rather, she was forced to retire with the threat of being fired, but that makes no difference to all of the athletes she touched in her career. The reason for this is because of a couple complaints from parents who thought their children weren’t catered to enough or that she was too mean. However, a majority of her athletes loved coach Knipp and are devastated and strongly opposed to this decision. In light of the recent firing of the head girls basketball coach, an accomplished coach beloved by most, and now the same thing happening to coach Knipp, it is clear that the Carmel Athletic Department does not have the interests of their student athletes in mind. It is not possible to make every athlete happy all of the time, but the cheerleading program is better off with Coach Knipp. The Carmel cheerleaders stand with Coach Knipp, so please sign this petition to tell the athletic department to stand with their athletes.
