Carleton University Department of Housing: Create a long-term and individualized accessibility plan on Residence
We the undersigned feel that the accessibility issues in Carleton University Residence are completely unjust. Furthermore, we demand Housing to create a long term solution to the many accessibility issues in Carleton University Residence. Over the course of the past academic year, Carleton University Housing has shown a disregard for accessibility issues in residence, often telling students to simply wait for their accessibility problems to be solved. This is a major problem, especially when these issues are taking weeks or even months to be solved, often resulting in a temporary fix where the problem re-occurs soon after. This can result in dangerous and inconvenient situations for those affected. By signing this petition I stand in solidarity with disabled students in need of greater accessibility on campus and show my support for a barrier-free and inclusive Carleton.
