Minimum wage for 'unpaid carers'. No more living on £62.10 a week Carers Allowance

I hate to use the term 'unpaid carers' although this is what we are called as we are not paid properly to do the job of caring for our loved ones, full time in many cases saving the Government Millions of pounds.
It's okay on a very short term basis to be paid £62.10 a week Carers Allowance but when you have been caring for over 30 years like I have there should be a system in place which allows a PROPER WAGE for the very important job we do.
The term 'unpaid' in itself lowers our position in life and severely restricts what we can achieve in life and what we can do. This is an unfair burden to all carers who are 'unpaid' workers in society.
WE NEED CHANGES TO TAKE PLACE URGENTLY TO PREVENT THE BREAKDOWN OF BEING ABLE TO CARE. WE CAN'T LIVE ON CARERS ALLOWANCE IS NOT ENOUGH MONEY.
I am petitioning The Carers Trust to take this situation forward for Carers in the UK.
