You may (or may not) be aware that Acorns nursery have bought the Trenewydd building at the end of Fairwater Road, at the top of Ynys y Coed and by the junction on to Cardiff Road. It is great that this building will be developed following its significant decline over recent years however, the plans are for a day nursery for 100 children/babies and 28 staff with NO PLANS FOR A CAR PARK/ DROP OFF PICK UP POINTS and absolutely no consideration of the impact in terms of traffic, pollution and general safety on an already very busy road. Unfortunately, the time for objections has passed (we had to do this over the Christmas period - we did get our objections in) but if we get 50 signatures on a petition the plans will have to go to the full planning committee for consideration and a local resident will attend to put forward our views. We need these signatures by Monday 13 January so time is of the essence!

We, the undersigned object to this application for the following main reasons:

1.​The size and scale of the proposed development is inappropriate for a
​residential area
2.​The impact of traffic and congestion on the local area particularly at
​peak times
3.​The lack of any parking on site for 28no staff
4.​The lack of short term parking for drop-off and collection of children will lead to​significant congestion and unauthorized parking
5.​The extra traffic will increase harmful pollution levels
6​The potential increase in risk to pedestrian safety especially children
​walking to and from school
