Eradicate Invasive Species in Carbeth

Carbeth has had a problem with the invasive species Japanese knotweed for over ten years. It has been to date, unwisely, allowed to spread, obviously harming the land and presenting clear issues for the future. The Knotweed is particularly Located in areas on the West HIghland Way, it cover's a large and significant area on the inn field, which has spread from the compost toilet towards Carbeth sign, other newer patches spreading in areas of what little land we are responsible for.
The committee still refuse after years to see this as a moral or legal obligation to deal with, those few individuals are clearly dependant upon a lack of information hutters may have on the matter or indeed by offering an informed choice to them. Consistently they are enabled in all decisions by a silent and ill informed majority.
The potential bill for dealing with this problem is now large indeed. The committee site the "costly" problem a reason for continuing to ignore.. this Cost will creep up year on year, it will only continue if left untreated. It Makes a laughing stock out of all Carbeth claims to represent. If it had been dealt with when asked in the past years, both by hutters and the neighbours, this wouldn't be presenting itself to be the problem it is now, nor would it be a waiting problem for future hutters.
This presents a massive risk to the native species in Carbeth land, a simple no brainier.
It may carry a financial risk of liability from the owned mortgaged property close by, the new business the neighbours with adjacent property and of course, from the wider estate.
If litigation were taken for the local adjacent property owners, it could jeopardise the community financially and the conservation status Carbeth was proud to reiterate in the past.
Please sign This petition to stop this utter madness and hold the Carbeth committee and all the owners accountable for the direct environment.
