We understand that the Mugu Estuary is the largest saltwater marsh in Southern California. We also understand that the estuary is important for the survival of numerous invertebrate, fish, and birds. However, the number of mosquitoes in Point Mugu housing areas is alarming! Many of us are faced with swarms of mosquitoes when we open our doors; it is impossible to keep them from getting into our homes. Furthermore, our children cannot play outdoors because bug spray does seem to work. The people living on Point Mugu have no choice; they (or their spouses) have chosen to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, and rent and/or mortgage rates in the area are astronomical. There must be something that can be done to help active duty members and their families from being prisoners in their own homes.
