Extension of UT Shuttle Operation Hours in Austin

Capital Metro, Austin’s regional public transportation provider, administered a system of buses called UT Shuttle that serves mostly to connect UT campus with residential areas. This has made convenient students’ transportation between their residences and school. There are still considerable complaint about the operation of shuttle lines. One of them includes that there is no bus running after 11 pm, which many students find very inconvenient if they do not have safe and reasonably priced alternative.
The other complaint being that during the rush hour, shuttles usually arrive at irregular intervals, sometimes no bus for an extended period and suddenly two coming head and tail. Understandably, this resulted from the heavy traffic on the southern portion of Interstate I-35 and northern portion of Mopac Expressway in the areas around Downtown Austin.
Therefore, I propose the extension of UT shuttle operation after 11 pm during weekdays and moderate adjustment of routes to avoid certain segments of the said roads so that shuttles may arrive in a more predictable fashion.
