I would like the Capestone Community and St Benedict's School community to sign a petition for the Moreton Bay Regional Council to re-open the Kinsellas Road East access to the St Benedict's Catholic Primary School, College and Kindergarten, Mango Hill QLD.

When the school first opened 10 years ago the access to the school was from Kinsellas Rd East. They closed this entrance upon the opening of St Benedict's Close. Since this time not only has the Capestone Estate been developed but the Mango Hill East Train Station has been built. The school has grown from the St Benedict's Primary School to incorporate the St Benedict'c College and then the St Benedict's Kindergarten all on the one campus. The traffic using the Capestone Blvd has increased exponentially over the last 5 years including an over pass for traffic from both old and new sections of Capestone Estate to merge. There is only 2 entry / exit points to the entire Capestone estate. Which is Capestone Blvd which has the round about and sole entry /  exit into St Benedict's Close. St Benedict's Close is a short single carriageway side-street that can not handle the combined traffic of a 3 school campus and a railway station.

This is leading to serious safety concerns for children leaving the campus and drivers trying to access the campus, in peak times. When the Mango Hill East Train Station began operating the Council made the surrounding streets in Capestone Estate a No Parking Zone between 6am - 6pm. This means no one can park on the streets during peak times. The carpark within the school has not grown to accommodate the addition of the additional 2 campuses operating on site. which leads to traffic mayhem. Local police have been contacted numerous times about illegal parking on both footpaths and the actual entry / exit round about. The school itself has contacted Council numerous times to plead for them to allow a second entrance. Both avenues have been unsuccessful so now we need our community to speak up and get this done before the unthinkable happens. It's only a matter of time before a frustrated commuter has parked illegally on the footpath that a student can now not access, or road rage incident due to illegal parking on the roundabout, congestion.

All these issues could be almost immediately be resolved with an additional access point to the School being re-opened on Kinsellas Rd East.

Please sign the petition to indicate the need for an additional access entry / exit point to the St Benedict's Catholic School Campus.
