Help change Mariner’s unfair dress code

Help change Mariner’s unfair dress code
Why this petition matters
Our school dress code is unfair and unreasonable, and promotes the idea that distracting other students is the fault of a student’s choice in clothing, and that if a student is distracted by another student, it is not their fault, but the fault of the distractor. This is a harmful idea and has no place in Cape Henlopen schools. The unreasonable dress code only adds to the already high anxiety and stress of students, as they worry about being dress-coded by the administration. The following four rules in the Code of Conduct should be changed or abolished for promoting this idea and hurting the learning environment by lowering student comfort and expression:
- short length
- spaghetti straps
- “low cut” tops
- ripped jeans
- bra straps
by signing this petition, I agree that the rules on these 5 things should be abolished or modified.
