Allow an old man the simple pleasure of a hobby and re-instate his Amateur Radio Antenna
0 have signed. Let’s get to 2,500.
We understand from Channel 5 that Armando Martins who is an elderly man, living alone has had the antenna he relies on for his hobby radio station removed by order of the Canterbury City Council. We want his antenna to be re-instated in order that he can continue to practice his hobby to maximum benefit in his retirement. We think that to re-instate it is the cheapest option when compared to moving him out of sheltered accommodation and finding a site where he can operate from. Whatever happens this needs to be resolved as soon as possible. The council need to resolve all the issues including dealing with the bullying that has arisen from it. On a wider front, Channel 5 also need to publish a public apology to all radio amateurs for suggesting that such radio masts cause sickness - which is complete rubbish.
Having now moved on please see our latest update.

Allow an old man the simple pleasure of a hobby by re-instating his Amateur Radio Antenna. We think he is still subject to restrictions and these need to be resolved with dignity and respect.
