The Cannabis Control Commission must protect cannabis consumers and create an equitable system of accessible licensing regulations for social consumption spaces that also benefit communities who have been most impacted by the war on drugs.

The Cannabis Control Commission will be discussing and creating regulations for #SocialConsumption starting October, 2018. We need your support.

The cannabis/weed/marijuana industry is one of the last waves of equity, the Cannabis Control Commission should create licensing that is low barrier to entry for social consumption.

WHAT DOES ACCESS AND EQUITY LOOK LIKE:

1) Social consumption areas should serve as a safe space to consumers, especially those who rent or live in public housing, and tourists.

2) 1-Day and 3-Day event permits should be publicly accessible for infused dinners, workshops, pot & paint nights, or any other 1-Day or 3-Day cannabis event.

Cannabis consumers should have access to temporary cannabis events the same way alcohol consumers have access to temporary alcohol events. Event permits also support opportunities for those who cannot afford a storefront location. Low-barriers to entry will allow small businesses and entrepreneurs to participate in the new cannabis industry.

3) We believe the commission should support, not criminalize BYOC. This means creating a licensing structure that allows cannabis consumers to BYOC (Bring Your Own Cannabis). Consumers have the right to gift marijuana, they should also be allowed to consume that gift responsibly together in safe designated areas. Adult consumers should be able to bring their own cannabis to events.

The Commission invites public feedback around these topics in October 2018 and will have drafted regulations by February 2019.
