Paid parking on Bridge Street will do nothing to help any of the locals. Businesses are already struggling to find employees with the highly increased cost of living. Now the city is either expecting them to pay up to an additional $140 a week to park at their works. If they opt to park at the beaches they are then leaving their vehicles unattended for up to 8 hours a day, when we already have a break in problem. Even if businesses were to cover their employee parking which most won't they will end up not being able to pay employees a livable wage due to increased costs. The city commission as well as Mayor John Chappie need to prevent this from happening at all costs.
