Finals should be canceled because of the impact that Covid-19 has had on the 2021-22 school year. Teachers and students have missed an excessive amount of days in school due to exposure and infection to Covid-19. This has created a lack of in-person instruction to understand enough material to get a good grade on the finals. In addition, since there will only be one final test, it will be cumulative, meaning, instead of a half-year's information it's a full year creating a much harder exam. Since there would only be one final test, the test will have a greater impact on all final averages for students. This could have a massive negative impact on not only the well-being of Fort Lee High School student’s grades, but have a massive impact on their mental health. It is simply too overwhelming to cram into the end of the year.
